When I did my nails about a week ago, I was pretty sure that they would be the nails I had on when I went to the hospital to have the baby…but alas, I had time for another manicure after that one got a bit chippy. This time, I’ve done a soak-off gel manicure, hoping to increase my chances that this is the final pre-baby mani (I’m typing this post up on Tuesday and scheduling it for Thursday…who knows what could happen between now and then)!
To start, I prepped my nails with acetone and OPI BondAid. Then, I applied a coat of Perfect Match Ultra-Thin Varnish Base Gel and cured for 30 seconds under my old OPI LED Light. I applied two coats of Perfect Match Laced Up, curing 30 seconds between each coat. Then, I dry brushed on the three glitters from the LeChat Perfect Match Moon Goddess Collection, waiting to cure until all three were applied: Perfect Match Crescent Halo, Perfect Match Illuminate, and Perfect Match Lunar Love. On my ring finger, I used black acrylic paint to create the black detail and applied a star-shaped rhinestone. I sealed everything in with Perfect Match High Gloss Top Gel Sealer and removed the inhibition layer with isopropyl alcohol.
All of the gel polishes used in this manicure are LeChat Perfect Match. I’ve reviewed lots of the Dare to Wear (traditional lacquer) shades that come with the Perfect Match Gel polishes and I’m thrilled to say I love the gels just as much as the lacquers! For professionals, LeChat polishes are available in the Perfect Match soak-off gel formulation. Each gel polish comes packaged with a matching Dare to Wear traditional lacquer. In my experience, the gel and lacquer polishes look identical on the nail. For consumers who would like to get in on these gorgeous shades, you can purchase the Dare to Wear lacquers for $6.50 each on the LeChat website.
So let’s take a poll…who thinks my pregnancy will outlast this manicure?!
