Amalie Beauty is one of those brands that has always fascinated me, but it wasn’t until recently that I tried a wider range of their products – spoiler alert: I’m impressed! I wrote a review for their debut product, Wink last summer and really liked it, so I’m thrilled to share their Shine Organic Facial Oil and Farm to Face Persimmon Creme today.
Amalie Beauty was founded by two MIT students who wanted to address beauty and self-care problems with the best ingredients and science possible. Their product line currently includes Wink Lash and Brow Oil, Shine Organic Facial Oil, and a trio of Farm to Face products including a creme and two oils. Their products contain no animal ingredients and they use no animal testing. They promise to never use ingredients that are known to cause cancer, harm to the body, or harm to the environment. Awesome, right?!
In 2017, Amalie Beauty launched their Farm to Face line. All of the ingredients for these products were grown by the founder of Amalie Beauty herself on her farm in Greene County, Indiana. This is really the next generation of truly small-batch, organic beauty! Because of this process, all of the products in this line are seasonal and limited edition. I have the Persimmon Anti-Aging Night Creme ($125 for 50mL) to share, but the collection also features two facial oils: Calm Anti-Inflammatory Oil ($80) and Rewind Anti-Aging Face Oil ($80).
The Farm to Face Persimmon Anti-Aging Night Creme is a lovely product packed with impressive ingredients. Persimmon leaf extract reduces the visible signs of aging. I love that Megan from Amalie shares the actual peer-reviewed article she based this on! Organic pumpkin seed and black walnut oils hydrate and nourish with Omega-3 fatty acids, while hyaluronic acid helps keep skin moisturized. It also contains organic squalane from organic olive and castor oil. This all comes together to create a thick creme that goes on smooth and soaks in quickly. It has the lightest scent that I really enjoy. Plus, it is packaged in an airless pump bottle to keep the product fresh – and it is vegan, cruelty-free, organic, free of soy, corn, and gluten, and of course, made in the USA!
I’ve been using this day and night for about two weeks and my skin is happy as can be! I only have the small sample sized bottle to work with, so I won’t be reporting any long-term effects, but I am happy to share that redness and irritation that I had on my cheeks and forehead (I suspect this was caused by a toner I was reviewing that didn’t seem to work well with my skin) cleared up almost immediately while using this. Really nice.
Shine Organic Brightening Facial Oil ($60 for 10mL) has made my face so happy. I don’t always use facial oils as part of my skincare routine, so I can tell that my skin has responded quickly to having such quality ingredients introduced to it. Shine contains organic pomegranate oil, organic argan oil, organic jojoba oil, sunflower seed oil, licorice extract, lemon peel oil, bearberry extract, elderberry fruit extract, grapefruit seed oil, and jasmine oil. These oils and extracts work together to fade dark spots, blemishes, fine lines, and wrinkles. The product has a lovely natural fragrance from the oils and is vegan, cruelty-free, free of corn, soy, and gluten, made in the USA, and contains 70% organic ingredients.
You can use Shine as an all-over moisturizer or as a spot treatment. I’ve been applying it to my forehead, two zones on my cheeks, and on my chin – the little red irritated blemishes in those areas respond really well to Shine! It only takes a drop or two to cover those areas, and after massaging for about a minute, it soaks in quickly. The thing I love most about Shine is that I see a reduction in redness immediately after applying it! Obviously my skin loves it.
If you’re in the market for some high quality skincare with scientifically-backed ingredients, then I’d suggest you check out Amalie Beauty’s offerings. The products are luxurious and have a fabulous boutique feel to them. My only complaint is that they brand by product, as opposed to a cohesive branding across the entire Amalie Beauty range, which can be a little confusing. But what matters (the product inside the cute packaging!) is phenomenal!
