Big news: we are moving! Well, let me rephrase that – we are in the early phases of making a move to the Cleveland area. We signed the paperwork to get our house officially on the market earlier this week and we’ve looked at a few houses. We’ve been in our current home for about four years – and we are definitely not moving because we don’t love the house or the neighborhood. I adore our house – it’s a 1950 colonial and has been a joy to live in. If we could pick it up and move it to Lyndhurst, it would be 100% perfection.
But alas, that’s not how things work. We need to be much, much closer to my husband’s job when the baby arrives, so we are headed north!
In preparation for listing our home, we worked on a lot of little projects and cleaned out a lot of stuff, but the one room I’m having trouble parting with is my studio. The number one rule of staging a home to show is to remove the personal touches…and this room is 100% weird personal stuff! Before I really dive in and clear out the “clutter” (aka TREASURES), I wanted to capture a few snapshots of my bright, eclectic space.
People who view our home will definitely say Oh yeah, remember that house we saw with all the nail polish?!, but that’s okay. Someone will get to make their own memories here, just like we will find a new house with perfect sunny spots for Bob, a great room for the outer-space-themed-nursery I’m planning, and yes – another nail-polish-filled studio space!
PS: my OttLite Eastman Architect’s LED Table Lamp is really the centerpiece of my workspace. I’m obsessed with the bright, natural daylight bulb – and I love that it’s ENERGY STAR rated. [Buy OttLite here!]
