Everyone has a happy place. In different phases of my life, it has been different places, and sometimes, I have multiple happy places for different purposes, but right now, it is definitely the coffee shop in the same plaza as my business. Muggswigz is a Canton staple, and it has definitely become a daily ritual for me.
The first Muggswigz opened in downtown Canton when I was in high school. I can remember my high school boyfriend taking me there once, and it was a big deal that we were allowed to drive downtown by ourselves! Fast forward to 2013: my business partner Stephanie was looking for an available space to open our shop, and she found a tiny place in the Shakertown Square Plaza in Lake Cable, where Muggswigz had just opened its second location. This is 100% how she talked me into renting that space!
I love the Lake Cable Muggswigz: the people, the drinks, the art. They source, roast and blend their own coffees, have amazing loose leaf teas and the BEST whipped cream, and offer dairy-alternatives and gluten-free treats. I’m not even writing this post as a plug for this place, but when I talk about it, I get excited and can’t help but tell everyone how great it is. The best part: the awesome group of baristas behind the counter. They are genuinely some of the best people I have ever met.
If you’re in Canton, OH, you should definitely stop by one of their two locations. I love the Bullseye Blend Coffee with a slice of Cream Cheese Bread (toasted, with peanut butter, honey and cinnamon). Or a Purple Picker Upper. Or a Mocha Cookie Crunch. Or a Fuzzywig. Or a Flower Bomb. Or just let whoever is behind the counter make whatever they think you’d like…it’s that good!
